Note: 1997 is the latest year for which complete data is available from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports. Violent crimes include Murder and Nonnegligent Manslaugher, Forcible Rape, Robbery and Aggravated Assault. Property crimes include Burglary, Larceny-Theft and Motor Vehicle Theft. Crime rates have fallen slightly in recent years. See below data for prior years.
